Stage 5: Tenby to Dale

Ok folks, we're back! And we're skipping over stage 4 as once again the weather was pants, the support boats weren't functioning and you get the gist! No row.

Don't get me wrong, we love Ceredigion - we love racing in the league races up and down the coast here every year, but quite frankly the weather has been against us on this stretch of our journey, so we decided that perhaps Ceredigion was jinxed for us and maybe it was time to move on to the next county and see how we fared there: Pembrokeshire!

As you can see from the picture above we had stunning scenery, flat calm until the last few miles, and rowers massively happy to get some sun on their skin, a bit of vitamin D and quite frankly an amazingly beautiful view. The climbers hanging off the sea cliffs were an added extra as well as the amazing rocks that stood proud from the flat clam sea. Wow!

The first 10 miles was taken on by our womens crew of Nic, Elaine, Christine & Jill, second half by Rich A, Maggy, Elaine H & Cerys and then finished off on the slightly more windy bit (and the bit that ran across the Milford Sound AKA route for tankers & ferries - eek!) by Gav, Richard G, Pippa & Blackie. And the biggest shout out has to go to our cox-in-a-million - Simon! What a star, coxing the whole 6 hour journey. Brilliant!

It truly is amazing the difference a day can make, but going from 8 foot high waves to the ripple of a 1 foot was quite a shock to the system - and a most welcome one! The buzz on arriving into Dale was great and I can tell you that we're just enjoying a cheeky one in The Griffin Inn - most recommended!!

Oh and add to that we also managed to field 6 teams in a rough and windy Aberystwyth league race - lets just say we're feeling pretty awesome. Get in there MYC x
