Stage 3: Erm...

What we really didn't want to happen has happened. We had to call off a day of rowing.

Lots of reasons really, but mostly because the winds were very high and our support RIB was in the process of being fixed. We had no other option than to call today off. Gutted.

But the decision was made fairly early on and we decided that rather than lose a whole day to moping around feeling bad about things, we split into 3 groups with 1 walking the stretch from Aberaeron to New Quay, 1 walking the stretch from New Quay to Aberporth and the other group going ahead to reccy the route for the coming days.

Oh...! And not forgetting the 2 members of the team, Geoff & Godfrey, who have travelled allllll the way back to Porthmadog to pick us up a 2nd RIB kindly on loan. Hopefully they'll make it back tonight and we can get back to the serious business of rowing tomorrow!

Of course, it all depends on weather conditions and we're constantly monitoring things to make sure we're ready when the opportunity arises. We've also got lots of friends in local rowing clubs waiting to join us on the next few stretches, so hopefully we'll have the chance to row en masse in the near future.

But for now, we're being fed plenty of carbs by the lovely Fishguard Bay Yacht Club folks, and being shown some amazing West Wales Welcome!

And don't think we've given up on the Aberaeron - Fishguard section! We're far too determined for that. With some crafty planning we'll see what we can do...

Watch this space for more updates...hopefully water based ones.!
